Google Expands AI Scam Protection to Samsung Galaxy S26

Google is expanding its Gemini on-device Scam Detection beyond Pixel phones to additional Android devices starting with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, bringing real-time call and message fraud detection to more countries and languages. The system analyzes speech during live calls and message content locally on the device (conversation data is not stored or shared), is off by default, excludes known contacts, and aims to detect sophisticated scams such as romance investment ('pig butchering') and fake job offers.
