Millions at Risk as Android Mental Health Apps Expose Sensitive Data

Oversecured's automated scans of 10 widely installed Android mental-health apps found 1,575 security flaws — including high-severity issues — that could expose sensitive therapy and health data, enable credential interception, or allow unauthorized access; researchers reported insecure local storage, exposed backend endpoints, hardcoded secrets, use of weak RNG, and missing root-detection, and are notifying vendors privately while fixes are rolled out.
