The FBI warns that Silent Ransom Group (aka Luna Moth / Chatty Spider / UNC3753) has expanded from phishing and phone-based IT support fraud to physically impersonating IT staff to gain workplace access, insert storage devices, exfiltrate sensitive data, and pressure victims via a data leak site; primary targets include US law firms and other organizations handling sensitive legal, financial, healthcare, and insurance data, with recommended mitigations including identity verification, access controls, staff training, and reporting to the FBI.
