France’s Tchap Breach: 650,000 Messages, 73,000 Accounts Exposed

A June 7 security incident involving a hijacked Tchap account reportedly exposed public-room content on the French government messaging platform; an actor claimed access to 643,459 messages, 73,467 user accounts, 876 rooms, and 59,386 media files. French authorities (DINUM/ANSSI) are investigating while noting private chats are encrypted and that public rooms are intentionally unencrypted.
