Europol, Microsoft, and international partners executed Operation Endgame to disrupt a global malware distribution network that stole credentials and supported large-scale cybercrime: investigators recovered 27 million stolen login credentials, identified over 140,000 infected computers, took down hundreds of servers and domains, and restricted roughly €41 million in suspected criminal crypto assets; Microsoft also linked separate malware families (Amadey and StealC) via shared infrastructure and used that linkage to pursue operators under RICO, while authorities warn that stolen credentials and remediated infected websites continue to pose residual risks to individuals and organizations.
