On September 17, 2025 SonicWall disclosed that firewall configuration backup files stored in certain MySonicWall accounts were exposed due to unauthorized access. Because these configuration files can contain sensitive credentials, VPN keys, and other settings that enable network access, SonicWall is advising affected customers to check MySonicWall for affected serial numbers, follow containment guidance, reset a prioritized list of credentials, and import sanitized configuration files provided by SonicWall while coordinating with support and law enforcement.
