SonicWall Warns Customers of Data Exposure Incident Affecting MySonicWall Configuration Backup Files

SonicWall disclosed that firewall configuration backup files stored in certain MySonicWall accounts were exposed following unauthorized access; because those files can contain credentials, certificates, and VPN keys, affected organisations are urged to follow SonicWall’s containment and remediation guidance (including resetting stored credentials, restricting management access during remediation, and importing updated configuration files). SonicWall is investigating, coordinating with law enforcement and agencies, notifying impacted accounts via MySonicWall, and offering support to help customers determine whether their backups were affected.
