Cisco Launches AI Provenance Tool to Strengthen Security and Compliance

Cisco released the open-source Model Provenance Kit to trace AI model lineage and improve transparency in AI supply chains; the Python-based tool uses a two-stage approach—rapid architectural screening followed by deep analysis of learned weights—extracting five fingerprint signals to produce a provenance score, and is available with an initial fingerprint dataset on Hugging Face.
