PowerSchool Hacked – Attackers Accessed Personal Data of Students and Teachers

Walker County Schools reported that PowerSchool's PowerSource customer support portal was accessed without authorization on December 28, 2024, exposing personal data of students and educators. PowerSchool states no malware was found, has isolated the access, deactivated compromised credentials, performed password resets, notified law enforcement, and will provide credit monitoring for adults and identity protection for minors while offering communications and support to affected school stakeholders.
