New Android Spyware Platform Enables Rebranding and Resale

A newly discovered Android spyware platform called KidsProtect is marketed as a parental-monitoring app but provides comprehensive covert surveillance features — call recording, live microphone streaming, GPS tracking, SMS and app notification access (including WhatsApp/Telegram), keystroke logging, remote camera and live screen monitoring — and is sold with a white-label reseller model that lets buyers rebrand and operate their own spyware services. Analysis shows it abuses sensitive Android permissions and the Accessibility Service for credential interception and persistence, uses device-admin/anti-uninstall and boot restart components, supports Android 7+, allows cleartext traffic, and is actively promoted on hacking forums, raising concerns about rapid proliferation and abuse.
