UK Government Launches Cyber Action Plan to Bolster Public Sector Security

The UK government announced a £210 million Cyber Action Plan establishing a centralized Government Cyber Unit to coordinate risk management and incident response across departments, set minimum security standards, and raise resilience across critical public services and supply chains. Aligned with the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, the plan introduces mandatory resilience requirements for government suppliers and launches a Software Security Ambassador Scheme with industry partners to promote a Software Security Code of Practice, aiming to strengthen software supply-chain security and bolster public trust in digital services.
