Italian authorities dismantled a sophisticated piracy operation (codenamed “All Clear”) built around the CINEMAGOAL application, which used distributed virtual machines to capture subscription credentials every three minutes, decrypt premium streaming content in near real-time, and retransmit unencrypted streams to users. Over 100 searches and seizures were conducted across Italy with international cooperation; more than 70 distributors were identified, key infrastructure and source code were seized, investigators estimate millions in illicit profits and approximately €300 million in damages to media companies, and fines and further legal actions are anticipated.
