Security researchers have identified nearly 20 fake online stores impersonating the official Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic merchandise shop to sell out-of-stock mascots at fraudulent discounts. The scam sites (e.g., 2026winterdeals.top, olympics-sale.shop, winter0lympicsstore.top) clone the legitimate storefront using automated tools and AI-assisted page generation, lure buyers with unrealistic prices, capture payment and personal data at checkout, and may deliver follow-up phishing or malware via order/tracking links; telemetry shows visitors from multiple countries and Malwarebytes is blocking confirmed fraudulent domains.
