Google Brings End-to-End Encrypted Gmail to Android and iPhone

Google has expanded Gmail’s client-side end-to-end encryption (E2EE) to Android and iOS, allowing users with an E2EE license to compose, read, and send encrypted messages and attachments natively in the Gmail mobile apps. The rollout aims to improve data sovereignty and compliance for organizations, supports guest recipients via browser access, and can be enabled by administrators through the Google Workspace Admin Console; setup details are available in Google’s Help Center.
