Silver Fox Cyberattack Targets Japanese Businesses with Tax-Themed Phishing Scams

Silver Fox is running targeted spearphishing campaigns against Japanese manufacturers and enterprises timed to tax-filing and restructuring season, using convincing HR/finance lures and real employee names; malicious attachments or links deploy ValleyRAT, a remote access trojan that enables data theft, remote control, monitoring, lateral movement and persistence, and organizations are advised to verify senders, avoid public file-sharing downloads, inspect compressed attachments, and ensure updated endpoint detection.
