Google Brings Lazy Loading to Media Files in New Chrome Release

Google Chrome now supports native lazy loading for audio and video elements via the loading="lazy" attribute, deferring media fetches until users approach the media in the viewport. This reduces initial bandwidth and memory use, improves performance for metered or slow networks, and can mitigate hidden tracking and drive-by media-based exploits by limiting automatic connections. Developers can implement it simply by adding the attribute to media tags, removing reliance on third-party lazy-loading scripts.
