Linux Kernel Team Publishes 440 CVE Security Advisories Within 24 Hours

The Linux kernel security team published an unusually large set of CVE advisories (wide-ranging memory-safety and validation fixes affecting networking, drivers, virtualization, Bluetooth, SMB, filesystems, and more) over July 19–20, 2026; administrators are advised to identify affected kernels/modules, prioritize internet-facing and multi-tenant systems, obtain vendor/distribution updates, test through change control, and reboot hosts after applying patches, while noting there is no indication this release reflects active exploitation.
