Microsoft Issues KB5078127 OOB Patch After Reports of Outlook Freezing and File System Instability

Microsoft released out-of-band updates KB5078127 (Windows 11 25H2/24H2) and KB5078132 (23H2) to remediate severe file system regressions introduced by the January 13 security updates that caused cloud storage access errors (OneDrive/Dropbox) and Outlook PST hangs; the fixes are available via Windows Update/Update Catalog, include SSUs (cannot be partially removed), have a minor cosmetic lock-screen password icon issue, and should be expedited by enterprise admins via Intune/Autopatch for affected users.
