Microsoft announced Brand Impersonation Protection for Teams Calling, rolling out mid‑February 2026 with general availability by late February, to detect signs of brand impersonation and social engineering in inbound external calls and display high‑risk warnings before users answer. Enabled by default and independent of existing policies, it provides user controls (accept, block, end) with ongoing risk assessment during calls, requires no immediate admin action, and recommends briefing helpdesks and updating security awareness materials ahead of the rollout.
