Ron Deibert Speaks at the OSCE: Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting II

Citizen Lab director Ron Deibert warned at an OSCE meeting that mercenary spyware represents a dangerous, visible part of a much larger, largely unregulated surveillance marketplace anchored in the personal data economy; he urged liberal democracies not to use national security as an excuse to bypass oversight and called for concrete actions to protect civil society and vulnerable populations.
