Job Posting: Citizen Lab Research Officer in the Area of Spyware and Digital Targeted Threats 

In May 2025, a sophisticated, personalized phishing campaign impersonating a U.S. State Department employee targeted researcher Keir Giles and attempted to coerce creation of app-specific passwords to bypass multi-factor authentication; Google detected and blocked the attempt and attributed it to a Russian state-backed operator, and Citizen Lab reported the attacker used a previously unobserved technique.
