Patch the Planet: HackerOne's Role in Securing Open-Source Software

Patch the Planet is an initiative announced by OpenAI Daybreak with partners including Trail of Bits and HackerOne to help secure critical open-source projects by combining Codex-assisted research with expert human validation, tested patches, and coordinated disclosure. The program emphasizes a maintainer-first approach, funds remediation work (so cost does not fall on maintainers), and uses HackerOne as an intake and tracking platform to manage reports and support remediation through to disclosure.
