Universal Internet Dataset Gives 20x More Visibility Into IPs Running Torrenting Services

This Censys analysis describes the Universal Internet Dataset (expanded port coverage from ~40 to 1045) and shows that scanning many more ports reveals substantially more hosts running torrenting services—most commonly uTorrent, followed by Vuze, BigBT, and Transmission—often exposing basic-auth banners and multiple ports per IP. The report also notes TLS certificate findings (about 33% of certificate-bearing torrent hosts used seedbox names) and highlights that the dataset provides significantly greater visibility into P2P service exposure.
