Report: Firms Could Use Better Vulnerability Assessment to Fight Cyberthreats

This article summarizes Tenable's Cyber Defender Strategies Report, which analyzes telemetry from organizations across 60+ countries to classify vulnerability-assessment maturity into four groups (minimalist, surveyor, investigator, diligent). The report finds roughly half of organizations operate at moderate-to-high maturity while the other half do only minimal or tactical scanning, and recommends practices such as increasing assessment frequency, expanding asset coverage, and using authenticated and distributed scanning to improve security posture.
