Homeland Security Warns Of Expanding Medical Device Attacks

The DHS National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center bulletin warns that increasing wireless and mobile connectivity in medical devices expands the attack surface—raising risks of patient data theft, device manipulation, and broader network compromise—and recommends procurement controls, vendor-supported updates, encryption, network segmentation, and standard endpoint and access controls to mitigate those risks.
