Report: Princeton Finds Security Flaws In Range Of Internet Of Things Devices

Researchers at Princeton analyzed a range of consumer IoT devices (including Nest Thermostat, Belkin WeMo, PixStar digital photo frame, and others) and found insecure data handling such as plaintext HTTP transmission and leakage of user location and account information; Princeton published a summary of findings and submitted the work to the FTC, and vendors (e.g., Nest) were notified and patched some issues.
