Mirai Botnet attacks on Home Routers felt in UK, also

Reports describe a large-scale Mirai botnet campaign exploiting a TR-069/TR-064 implementation flaw in consumer routers (notably via port 7547) to install malware and disrupt connectivity. Flashpoint and Rapid7 telemetry and media outlets report hundreds of thousands of affected customers (including ~100,000 in the UK and ~900,000 Deutsche Telekom users), rapid weaponization of a public proof-of-concept, and recommendations to close exposed management ports or patch devices.
