Report: with most exploited vuln of 2018, it’s really Really REALLY time to ditch IE!

Recorded Future's 2018 report found that Microsoft products, notably Internet Explorer, accounted for the majority of the top exploited vulnerabilities; exploit kits (RIG, Fallout, ThreadKit, etc.) and RATs were used to weaponize CVEs such as CVE-2018-8174 and CVE-2016-0189, facilitating distribution of malware like Trickbot and GandCrab. The report emphasizes active exploitation observed on dark-web forums and in kits for sale, recommends aggressive patching and migration from vulnerable browsers, and notes a decline in the number of exploit kits but continued high impact from widely used software vulnerabilities.
