From China with Love: New York Firm sold millions in PRC Surveillance Gear to US Government, Military

A Department of Justice complaint alleges Long Island-based Aventura Technologies sold over $88M of Chinese-made surveillance equipment to more than 60 U.S. government contracts while misrepresenting the products as made in the USA; federal agents arrested defendants, executed search warrants, seized assets, and froze funds. The DOJ said some cameras used firmware with remotely exploitable vulnerabilities and that shipments were intercepted and marked by U.S. Customs to trace the Chinese origin, raising significant supply-chain and national security concerns.
