Report: Companies Still Grappling with IoT Security

Ponemon Institute's third annual IoT risk report finds data breaches tied to unsecured IoT devices have increased by more than 10% since 2017 and third-party IoT–originated attacks rose from 16% to 24%. The survey of 625 governance and risk professionals shows many organizations lack complete IoT inventories, centralized accountability, and board-level attention; recommended actions include creating full device inventories, isolating IoT on separate networks, and continuous monitoring to detect intrusions.
