New Search Engine Wants To Be A Google For Code

Researchers at the University of Cambridge unveiled Rendezvous, a proof-of-concept search engine that decompiles unknown binaries and searches a large corpus of open-source code to identify reused components. The tool is intended to aid auditors in finding reused code, locating vulnerabilities, supporting reverse engineering and copyright enforcement by matching instruction mnemonics, control-flow subgraphs, and data constants across differently compiled binaries.
