Spy Eyes In the Sky: DHS says DJI Drones spy for Chinese Government, Industry

The Department of Homeland Security bulletin warns that DJI commercial drones may automatically collect and transmit GPS-tagged imagery, facial recognition and user data from U.S. operators to DJI cloud servers in Taiwan/China/Hong Kong that the Chinese government likely can access, potentially exposing information on critical infrastructure, law enforcement and private-sector sites; the report cites targeted marketing to critical industries, aggressive price competition to gain market share, and anecdotal instances where DJI data appeared to benefit Chinese buyers.
