Security Hole in Samsung Smart TVs Could Allow Remote Spying

A Malta-based security firm, ReVuln, discovered and demonstrated a remote zero-day vulnerability in Samsung Smart TVs running the vendor's Linux-based firmware that can provide attackers with shell access, full file access (including external USB drives), credential theft, and control of attached cameras/microphones; ReVuln posted a proof-of-concept video and declines to notify Samsung, and the affected TVs lack independent update mechanisms, leaving patching dependent on Samsung firmware updates.
