Europol Warns of Internet of Things Risk

Europol’s EC3 iOCTA warns that the proliferation of IoT devices (the “Internet of Everything”) substantially increases the attack surface available to cyber criminals and state actors, enabling use of compromised devices for large-scale disruptive activity (e.g., DDoS, spam) and complicating attribution and investigations due to device diversity, distributed cloud data, and cross-border legal challenges.
