U.S. sanctions Russian companies, individuals over cyber attacks

The U.S. government imposed sanctions on five Russian companies (including Digital Security, ERPScan, Embedi, Kvant, and Divetechnoservices) and three individuals for assisting the FSB in enhancing Russia's cyber-offensive and underwater capabilities — such as supplying diving systems and a $1.5M submersible — and tied these actions to broader concerns about state-sponsored cyber operations (e.g., NotPetya) and threats to undersea cables and critical infrastructure.
