Researchers at CyberX presented a proof-of-concept showing that Siemens S7-1200 programmable logic controllers can be coerced to emit encoded radio-frequency signals by manipulating memory writes, enabling data exfiltration from air-gapped industrial control networks without exploiting software vulnerabilities; the technique could be adapted to other PLCs and poses a novel risk to sensitive ICS environments.
