Intel: New Approach Needed to Secure Connected Health Devices

The Intel Security and Atlantic Council report evaluates the risks and rewards of connected medical devices, warning that while these technologies could dramatically reduce healthcare costs, they introduce serious safety and privacy risks—from accidental failures and legacy-software vulnerabilities to the remote (though low-probability) possibility of maliciously targeted attacks—and recommends secure-by-design development, better update mechanisms, and closer public-private cooperation to mitigate those risks.
