The ZigBee Alliance announced the consolidation of six existing IoT standards (Home Automation, Light Link, Building Automation, Retail Services, Health Care, and Telecommunication services) into a single ZigBee 3.0 standard to improve interoperability across smart devices; the new standard is being tested with industry partners and expected to be demonstrated at CES and ratified by late 2015.
