Microsoft Uses Courts To Take Down Malicious, Managed DNS Services

Microsoft seized and shut down managed DNS infrastructure operated via No-IP after discovering massive abuse by the Bladabindi (NJrat) and Jenxcus malware families; Microsoft reported ~7.4 million detections over 12 months, linked No-IP domains to 245 malware types and alleged the provider and two individuals failed to remediate abuse, enabling large-scale backdoor/spyware operations that used dynamic DNS to hide command-and-control traffic.
