Opinion: Disrupt Fraud by Devaluing Data

The article argues that organizations should reduce reliance on static PII (names, SSNs, DOBs, etc.) for authentication and instead adopt a holistic identity management approach using dynamic signals (device and behavioral telemetry, geolocation, link analysis), educate consumers to reduce friction and improve security hygiene, and participate in industry information sharing to decrease fraud and the economic value of stolen data.
