Report: Hospital network hacked, 4.5 million records stolen

Community Health Systems, a national network operating 206 hospitals across 28 states, disclosed a cyberattack that led to the theft of personal data for ~4.5 million patients — including names, Social Security numbers, physical addresses, birthdates and telephone numbers — affecting patients treated at physician offices tied to CHS hospitals over the past five years; the FBI is investigating.
