Unpatched Vulnerabilities Common on Docker Hub Images

A Banyan Labs survey of Docker Hub images found critical, known vulnerabilities (Heartbleed, Shellshock, Poodle, etc.) widespread across both official and general repositories: over one-third of official images and roughly 30–40% of general images contain high-severity flaws, rising to ~70% when medium severities are included. The report highlights that many affected images are widely downloaded, older images are often neglected, and even some recently created images still contain serious, patchable vulnerabilities.
