Study: Security Warnings Ignored Because of Bad Timing

This article reports on BYU and Google research showing that security and warning messages are often ignored—up to 90% of the time—when presented while users are multitasking or otherwise engaged, due to dual-task interference; it recommends reconsidering how and when alerts are presented but does not describe any specific attack, breach, or technical threat.
