DHS warns of BrickerBot Threat to Internet of Things

The DHS/ICS-CERT warns about BrickerBot, a destructive malware family (BrickerBot.1 and BrickerBot.2) that brute-forces Telnet on BusyBox/Dropbear-based embedded Linux devices using default credentials, then corrupts and wipes device data; Radware observed ~1,895 attack attempts and agencies recommend disabling Telnet, removing default accounts, and using IPS/VPN and network behavioral analysis to mitigate risk.
