Robot Account Apocalypse: RPA Risk Exploding with Adoption

The report warns that enterprise Robotic Process Automation (RPA) deployments create significant security risks because bots require privileged credentials that are often hard-coded, reused, overprivileged, and outside normal IT governance. Researchers from CyberArk highlight that compromised bot accounts can provide attackers with stealthy privileged access to sensitive systems and data, and recommend planning RPA projects with CIO/CSO oversight, enforcing least-privilege, securely storing bot credentials, isolating RPA accounts, and protecting RPA consoles.
