One in Five Vehicle Vulnerabilities are ‘Hair on Fire’ Critical

IOActive analyzed over 150 vehicle security flaws and found about one in five vulnerabilities rated “critical,” often caused by poor secure development practices and flawed engineering assumptions; the report warns these issues cannot be fixed with bolt-on solutions and calls for automakers to adopt secure development lifecycles, engage researchers, and embrace policy/regulatory changes to reduce systemic risk in connected vehicles.
