Beware of overly advertised apps in mobile app stores

AhnLab researchers identified numerous mass-produced Android and iOS apps disguising themselves as government policy and learning tools while serving excessive, intrusive ads; the apps share similar structure, developer blog links (often Blogspot), suspiciously repetitive positive reviews, and signs of account hijacking. No explicit malware or data-theft was found, but the design facilitates ad fraud and could be modified in future to download or load malicious payloads, so users should vet app disclosures, reviews, and developer information before installing.
