DumpBrowserSecrets is a public post‑exploitation tool that harvests browser-stored credentials and tokens from major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera variants, Vivaldi, and Firefox). It bypasses Chrome's App‑Bound Encryption by injecting a DLL into a spawned headless Chromium process to use the IElevator COM interface and extract encryption keys, supports DPAPI and NSS decryption for other browsers, outputs structured JSON, and includes evasion features (string obfuscation, API hashing, PPID/argument spoofing, file-handle duplication). The report outlines attack scenarios, detection opportunities (process injection, IElevator usage, non-browser reads of browser databases), and mitigation recommendations such as using dedicated credential managers and EDRs that monitor these behaviors.
