DumpBrowserSecrets is a post-exploitation credential-harvesting tool (publicly distributed as a Windows executable and DLL) that extracts passwords, session cookies, OAuth tokens, credit card data, autofill entries and history from Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera variants, Vivaldi, and Firefox. It implements an App‑Bound Encryption bypass for Chromium-based browsers by spawning a headless Chromium process and injecting a DLL that uses the IElevator COM interface to decrypt the app_bound_encrypted_key, and it includes operational evasion techniques (string obfuscation, API hashing, PPID/argument spoofing, handle duplication, custom SQLite parsing). The report includes usage examples, an attack scenario demonstrating rapid credential extraction enabling cloud account takeover and lateral movement, plus detection and mitigation recommendations.
