DumpBrowserSecrets is a publicly documented post-exploitation tool that harvests browser-stored secrets (passwords, session cookies, OAuth refresh tokens, credit card data, autofill and history) from major Chromium-based browsers and Firefox on Windows. It bypasses Chrome's App-Bound Encryption by injecting a DLL into a headless Chromium process to call the IElevator COM interface, uses DPAPI/NSS decryption where applicable, and includes multiple evasion features (string obfuscation, API hashing, PPID/argument spoofing, handle duplication, custom SQLite parsing). The report includes usage examples, an attack scenario showing rapid cloud/SaaS account takeover from a compromised developer workstation, detection opportunities, and mitigation recommendations such as using external password managers and EDR monitoring of IElevator calls and headless browser behavior.
